Plasma HDTVPlasma or LCD screen? All of these questions might seem too hard to decide on. But all you have to do is to understand a few basics about TVs to be able make the right choice for what will suit you best. Watching television has evolved from generation to generation. Only few people had it in their homes during the middle of the last century. But now you can find most of the consumers does not only have one television, they now have several. On the other hand, television programming has expanded from only three big networks to a whole host of other channels as well. In addition to it, with this growth of interest in television programming the technology of televisions has been progressively improving too. Now, we got lots of choices to make when we are deciding to buy another television. Many questions will pop up into our mind whether we are faced with the decision of whether we should buy the analog or the digital TV? HDTV enabled or ready?
Analog is just a simple television that you have been used to in the past years. Signals are sent and received in analog format and has worked fine for a long time. Its disadvantage is that analog TV signals can only hold so much data for the screen and sound, and an analog signal can be corrupted immediately. Never fear though, analog TV will be fine for use for a lot more years even after other technologies starts to dominate. The good news is that analog TV sets are very low-priced and you can get a lot for your dollar. Digital TV signals on the other hand allow the data sent by the TV station to be much denser and include more definition without very much degradation of signal. Digital TV usually makes for a much better picture and sound, especially on DVDs. in addition digital TV has made it likely for the newer standards of high definition programming. For the absolute best picture and sound the TV station should be broadcasting in high definition (or HDTV), and your TV should also be able to receive and process that HDTV signal and display it on a high definition enabled screen. If all of these criteria are met the effects are just stunning. Digital television is now a reality -- but you're not going to see it the way it was meant to be seen using yesterday's TV sets. Today, we're in the midst of a digital video revolution, thanks to HDTV, DTV, DVD-Video, digital satellite broadcasts and computer video. Plasma display technology is one way to fully enjoy the dramatically improved image quality of all these digital video sources. Then the Plasma screens entered the US market towards the end of 1999, but the concept has been around since July of 1964 at the University of Illinois. The first displays were nothing more than points of light formed in laboratory experiments. The technology was done and improved, and by the late 60's, it had become advanced enough to let the scientists to put up geometric shapes. Today the development in high speed digital processing, materials, and advanced manufacturing technology has made full color, bright plasma displays possible. Concise guide about plasma technology starting with the history and leading into the main benefits and advantages of plasma technology is the first step you should take. Plasma televisions put forward many advantages over other television technologies, making plasma televisions the fastest selling 'new' television technology on the market. Plasma televisions are able to display a higher resolution compared to conventional TVs, and many new plasma televisions are capable of displaying HDTV signals. In addition to superior picture quality, plasma televisions can be wall mounted, saving floor space and offering a theater-like display. Now combine Plasma technology with HDTV technology and you have got a great looking TV with high quality output that no one can possibly say no to.
